Where to catch salmon in the Bremerton-Tacoma area

Post by luv2boutdoors » Thu Jul 17, 2014 7:45 am

I don't have a boat:/ but where can I catch salmon? I live in Bremerton so the surrounding kitsap county is in play all the way out to Tacoma. Also, what is the best way to set up a rig for salmon? Bare with me, I am new to this.

Hi again Luv2! No, I'm not stalking you! just often in the same boat, so to speak! A great place for beach salmon fishing is the north end of the peninsula, Point No Point, near the light house. These is a state park there, and the area is well known for fishing. Most people should be able to direct you there once you get close. From Poulsbo, head toward Kingston, but take the intersection north to Hansville. Just before Hansville, a marked road to the right will take you right there. A longer, medium heavy rod with a pink buzz bomb is good basic gear. Sportsmans in Silverdale, next to Costco, should be able to provide you with all the specifics, and gear too, if you need it. Good luck!

Thank you David. I will have to head out there. It's been a while since I have been to point no point.
