Kayak Angling Shopping List

Post by Hank » Wed Jul 04, 2012 8:27 pm

Good day and Happy 4th of July,

I've recently acquired a new Ocean Kayak Trident Angler 15. I have always primarily been a fly fishermen. I want to start trolling with gear, but I don't know the difference between a hoochie and a flasher. I have the fishing poles, but I need to start acquiring the tackle.

I live in Mukilteo and I want to troll Humpie Hollow and the Shipwreck area. I'd also like to try Lake Stevens and some of the other area lakes. I have a hundred dollar Cabelas gift card to get me started. Can anyone help me out with a basic shopping list for kayak trolling?

Thank you in advance,

Hank

Others will surely chime in regarding tackle and techniques, but for Kayak specific setups try here (some of the members here are members there as well)

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
