May I respectfully suggest Conranch Hackles. Great customer service, best quality feathers, and he promises he will never sell to the fashion industry. AND he is located in Washington State.

Over here on the wet side; 3 of the shops that I spend my fly fishing money at are out of any decent hackle. The beauticians are buying everything thats "pretty" to put in their customers hair. My hackle drawer looks pretty well stocked now but if this fashion fad lasts more than a year I'll be making a long road trip hunting down hackle.

Marc already told you how to get all you want. I plan on following his advise, but I don't know how to have them shipped to some place other then home, where my wife lives of course.#-o

OMG! I just checked the pricing on this "trend". All I can say is if you have a young teen in your house, lock up your saddles!!

The minimum order is $100.00 In that min. order, you get 5 feather bundles with 7 feathers in each bundle.

Imagine what 4 girls could do to your #1 Metz Saddle#-o [scared]

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:pale: [scared]
On the high side, it improves my chances of finding a dryfly hackle on the sidewalk. I'd probably get arrested if I hung out by the high school looking at girls' hair though.

Yes, there is starting to be a run on hackles now. Today, I stopped into Wholesale Sports in Spokane and talked with Stan for a bit. I told him about this trend and he said that the traffic into the store for these is increasing. One lady came in and bought 4 Metz necks.

So, if you are thinking about buying some saddles, call your retailer and have him reserve one or two for you. The good news is it is only a trend. The bad news is that if the farms want to make a killing on this fad, the price may go way up.[thumbdn] Hopefully they won't do that.

Sorry I'm late to the party. I bought some years ago from Feathers Co. in Valleyford WA. Are they still in business. The hackle was a little wimpy so I never re-ordered from them. The Conranch stuff looks good and is priced pretty reasonable.

I'm a newbie on this board, what a terrible first post, but I had a grizzly saddle that I had picked up several years ago at one of the outdoor shows at Quest so it's been a few years. I crossed over to the dark side and sold it on ebay for $165. :-k But I did use the proceeds to buy some halibut reels [thumbsup]

You're somewhere between a meth cooker and a crack dealer in my world right now.
Of course, I'm kidding. I'd be a total hypocrite if I suddenly turned against the free market.
What we need to do is simply find a way to get our own cut. We could make the next big fad. Why stop at hackles, I've always thought that a royal coachman was a beautiful fly, it has a sharp pointy end to it and most of these girls have a ton of piercings. Here's a great example: http://matebaitjewelry.com/main.sc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
