Baked Whole Trout...Yum!!!
You all should try this recipe it's easy to prepare and easy clean-up.
When you get back from fishing the night before; clean the fish and store in fridge overnight.
To bake fish, LEAVE THE HEAD ON , Take extra strenght tin foil (if you only have reg. foil, double it) and form a boat out of foil. You want sides of boat taller that the fish on it's side in foil boat. Place fish into boat.
ADD: half stick to 3/4 stick of butter or olive oil. I like to break the butter up into quarter size chunks, and place around and inside the cavity of fish.
ADD: about 1/2 to a whole onion, slightly cooked, and place on, around, and in cavity of fish. If you like garlic, a clove should do.
ADD: Salt & Pepper and Lemon slices down center of fish.
Make a lid out of foil, place over top. Put in oven. Bake at 375 for about 15 tp 20 minutes OR UNTIL THE FISH'S EYES TURN WHITE. I like to take the top off and return to oven for additional 5 minutes.
Best served over bed of rice with hot cooking butter poured over top of fish and rice. I hope you enjoy!!!

???? It's a good recipe. Tried it and liked it (but without the double foil part).Larry Walker wrote:Not Yum

The fish's EYES are a built in thermometer. When they turn WHITE, you know the fish is done. Plus, it makes it easier to get the skeletal structure out in one try. : )

this works great when camping to except you make the sides high enough to fold over, make a few holes around the folded ridge and stick in the coles after the fire has burned down, add the same stuff described or what may be of your taste. keep heads on as descibed (for extra flavor:thumleft:) can be done for individual servings or stick in several small trout if of legal min. size. i like mine with butter and yea it gooooood!!! <')//<
