a fishing place
a fishing place
hi guys I am having a tough time trying to figure where to go fishing this friday or/and saturaday. Have boat, have feet, just cannot decide where to go. Any pointers? If not then ill just do the usual and head down to lake sammamish.

Umm lake sammie. Why not go there if its close and saves you gas,i believe the smallies are probably going good there. If i lived up there i would be all over it.
RE:a fishing place
it is the only place i ever really fish. Love the cutts in there dont fish for bass. I was gonna give Lake WA a try never took the boat out there yet although it would only be on friday as it the seafair.

I would go to lake sammamish anyway. If your a little bored of the cutts, try for smallmouths. After you catch a few its not that hard to figure out.
And i wouldnt even try to fish Lake WA during seafair...

Yes def stay away from Lake Wa this weekend,..the Pits were already gettin full with boaters anticipating Seafair,..Lake Sam seems to be a better choice and do what JT says,..try Drop-Shottin or crankin for some Smallies!

Elliot Bay by the east waterway has been kickin out some kings.
RE:a fishing place
Lk Sammamish is where I usually take the family during the Seafair weekend. We target warm water fish, perch, bass, crappie and catfish. If you want to try something new, hit Lake Kachess for Kokanee. It is less than an hour drive from Sammamish and makes for a good change of pace. Right now the water level is 100% full and makes for easy launching at the park and the views are very nice. I use a small spinner 3' to 4' behind a 0000 dodger baited with shoepeg corn and drizzled with anise krill scent. The fish aren't normally big but you get to keep 15 tasty fish a day! Your fishfinder will tell you how far down to put your rig, but right now they should be anywhere from 15' to 40' down. FYI, here is a link to the water levels for all the reservoirs leading to the Yakima River: http://www.usbr.gov/pn/hydromet/yakima/yaktea.htm

I live right there and i've allready changed my driving to work route.G-man has a great idea in Lake Kachess.I usually target Burbot(freshwater lingcod) there.Shoepeg corn works well except for corn will choke trout to death.Fish are like us.We cant digest the hull on corn.I use 1 piece for bait and dont use corn for chumming.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
RE:a fishing place
wow didnt know trout will choke to death on corn.. I just looked up burbot and i must say it so looks like a good fish to catch. I do wonder if it taste like cod as it is part of the same family, isnt it?racfish wrote:I live right there and i've allready changed my driving to work route.G-man has a great idea in Lake Kachess.I usually target Burbot(freshwater lingcod) there.Shoepeg corn works well except for corn will choke trout to death.Fish are like us.We cant digest the hull on corn.I use 1 piece for bait and dont use corn for chumming.
