Run Seafoam till it's cleaned up.

I have done that and it helped mine.
It ran fine in the driveway but get it out to the lake and it didn't run well. They sell Seafoam at Walmart or Oneils $8.99-$9.99 a bottle.

spoze the only reason i post anymore is because no 1 wants to hear it lolololol ... i got 3/4S of a can of seafoam i'd give to some 1 lolol .... ya'll should find a dealer for AMSOIL ... a sponcer here on the site .... or maybe the Supreme Commander could arrange a blog or "sticky" post in "BOATS" from 1 of the dealers or area reps .... i dont burn gas without 1 or 2 of their products in it .... i got tired of bad gas 'n gum'd up fuel systems 'n dirty combustion chambers 'n plugs ...

story .... so i was at my AMSOIL dealer's place get'n some fuel additve and saw a lil plastic pouch of saw oil lay'n on his desk ..... the convo about the lil pouch of oil lead to this statement .... " here you take this free lil pouch and make a gal of gas and run it " .... " and i want you to run the live'n (EDITED) out of it" .... "and if you blow up your saw (bout 20 yrs old) i'll buy you a brand new 1 to replace it ... i love that old saw lolol ... runs better than it has in yearsss ... <shrugs> .... DOG

Amsoil is great stuff. Personally I would stay away from the 100:1 mix, I've seen it do things to air cooled engines if you run into a lean burn situation. No matter how good the oil is (and it is good) if there's just not enough, you got a problem. Never seen an issue with 50:1. Can't say anything about their fuel stabilizers because I've never used them. Green Stabil is mixed in every fill up and I've never had a problem, 2 or 4 stroke in any of the boats. 80's vintage Johnson 9.9 hasn't been tuned up in 15 years and runs like a top. Stabil in the gas and I run the engine dry before I put it away.

OK so I guess you're not out of it. Pretty bad when you can't even take a compliment. Maybe seek some professional help.

Although I'm a firm believer in SeaFoam and would recommend following Bodo's instructions regarding it's application along with fuel stabilizers and running your engine dry after use, I think you should also know that if the carb (which is sounds like could be the problem) is really gummed up, then it will really need to be pulled and thoroughly cleaned out as SeaFoam does have it's limitations. In addition, the ethanol in today's gas will really dry out the fuel pump diaphragm and other gaskets in your carb. Another reason to run it dry after use or buy ethanol free gas. If you end up pulling the carb, then I highly recommend getting a carb gasket kit from a marine supplier instead of reusing the old stuff.
Question, is the motor pumping water like it should? If not, the engine could be getting hot and therefore missing. This most likely means the impeller needs replacing.
Finally, you might as well change the plugs anyway. Certainly wouldn't hurt anything and you would know they're good.
Best of luck and hope you get on the water soon.

bent rod it was pumping water fine but now its not puming a drop of water out so i think ur right ..if the water pump is not working would the engine cough and its not a missing souind more of a cough and when its coughing it will shoot water out of my can all over like its shooting a air pocket in the water or something

If it's the water pump that is the problem, the motor will usually start ok when cold and run fine for a short period until it gets too hot at which point it'll start acting up. If it acts funny from a cold start, then it's probably not the water pump that is the cause.

it starts fine but like 30 seconds after it starts it starts coughing and the head gets to hot to even touch it so i am just going to change the water pump and buy a carb kit if that dont fix it then i will be at a loss

-do you have the motor submergered in water enough to allow the pressure for the water pump to work? the water needs to be a good 4 to 6 inches i think above the intake for the pump to work properly.

-is your motor peeing? as in is the impeller doing its job and pushing water up though and out the pee hole on bottom of your upper unit?

Just thought I'd add, not all motors will have a telltale at startup, some only do so once the thermostat opens - Merc EFI's in particular. Don't know if your Force is this way, it might or might not be. If you don't know when the impeller was changed last, it's good, and cheap, insurance to do so anyway. [thumbup]

one shot it is not peeing any more it was yesterday but not today plus i took spark plugs out after running it and the plugs were wet with gas then i unplugg my gas can and set the motor down and tilted it and gas came out of the carb not alot but enough to notice

As long as you are looking at replacing the water pump and rebuilding the carb you should look at replacing the thermostat also. If the head is too hot to touch after running 30 seconds little or no water is getting through, either at the pump the thermostat or both.

if it was pumping water and now it is not, I am sure you don't have it low enough in the water. Get it lower until some water gets going(gets primed) once primed it will not have to be so low in the water. With that said I would still change the impeller(water pump) do a carb kit and check thermostat or replace it. You said the O/B is new to you so replace these items and you will be good to go. Be sure and adjust carb on the water as it will not be correct if you do it in the driveway. Refer to iboats.com for some great info on your motor and how to properly adjust your carb. Seafoam is awesome by the way. If funds are tight right now I would be that seafoam AND proper carb adjustment....you'll be on the water fishing!!!

If you are using "water muffs" to run your motor while it is in the driveway and still not getting any water out of the pee hole, I'd start with the thermostat, it's housing and any hoses associated with the cooling system. You'd be surprised what the impeller can suck up and try to push through the system. My 98' Johnson kicker came down with a similar case of overheating/missfiring when running at mid to high RPMs. Turned out to be a bunch of deposits in the thermostat housing, that restricted the water flow.
