3hp Gamefisher HELP

Post by R0cky23 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:49 am

I got a gamefisher 3hp motor. Bought it from a neighbor, did a tune up and it ran well. But then it started not staying running, and now wont start. Has compression, put new spark plugs in, but wont start. After every couple pulls on the pull starter the spark plugs have gas on it?? does anyone know what I should try to do to get er workin?

I owned a Sears 9.9 water cooled engine. Had nothing but problems with it. The biggest being over heating. Put in a new impeller, changed the head gasket. Tried everything. Finally gave it away and bought a new 9.9 4 stroke Merc. From my experience and other reports I've heard Sears motors make better anchors than outboards.

I had a litle Sears gamefisher motor for years and it was a great little motor. It was an air cooled little guy. I'd say clean the carb and roll. Probably gunk in the carb plugging the jets and the pump. Once again, Seafoam!
