Members Boats
Re: Members Boats
2 boats, a 2002 14'6" Crestliner Sportsman currently powered by a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke and a 3.5hp 2 stroke kicker of the same brand. Boat 2 is a 1984 12ft Duroboat with my 1976 6hp Evinrude. Amazing how much more stable the Crestliner is.
Re: Members Boats
My current pride and joy is a 1985 17' Invader Center Console. A junk yard find, I spent a year rebuilding it from the bottom up to suit my needs as a dual purpose fresh/salt water boat. Replaced and redesigned all but the hull, she has a 140 HP, EFI Suzuki 2 stroke, all the electronics toys and does great in rough water. Here is a before and after pic.

Re: Members Boats
love that new center console setup
Re: Members Boats
Thanks. The original console was too short to stand up behind so I raised it six inches. I also added storage space above it to hold a CB radio and misc. stuff which added more height. I didnt want to clutter the console with engine controls so I opted to mount them on the left. Seemed a bit odd at first due to the trim button but now that I have driven the boat, I like it!

Re: Members Boats
if you love it, you'll use it more, right? I've been logging my hours/miles this year to see how much i get the boat out myself.
yeah it looks like the instrument dashboard turned out really clean. It seems like there is always more gauges/electronics, and manuals to add to the boat.

Re: Members Boats
LOL. I'm an electrical and electronics engineer by trade so I may overkill some things. I built an aircraft quality wiring harness that should never be a problem.
Your right. If you love it, you'll use it. I cant hardly wait to get out again this weekend. I built it for fresh and salt water and I'm eager to get it out in the big water.

Re: Members Boats
Bought my boat 6 weeks ago, I painted the inside and replaced all wiring, Lights and the Bilge. Added downriggers and have a new over tank seat scheduled to be installed next week. Still a few things to add. Main motor has less than 75 hours on rebuild.

Re: Members Boats
Finally I get to post up here! After two years of researching, saving, asking around, saving, pm-ing WaLakes members for input, saving, taking rides in other peoples boats and saving it all came together, the stars aligned and a new chapter in Gringo's fishing adventures has begun!
I want to give a shout out to WaLakes members Mike Carey, KZOO, Wood, BlueRock, Bodo, Matt, Gisteppo, & RottonChum who I have been bugging over the last couple years asking for advice and opinions - thank you all!

Re: Members Boats
I almost forgot to add SickBayer and Quad to that list. It WAS a long time coming, but in the end that was a good thing, both financially and in the fact that when I started looking, I thought I wanted something totally different and through the help of all you guys was able to put together what would really work best for me.
