Lake Sammammish perch and boat launch question
Hey I was just wondering if there's any launch closer to the northern part of Lake Sammamish than the Idlywood Park one. My dad and I were thinking of trying around that spot and other areas for perch where the harassers were discussed in one of the bass threads lol. We've never fished there so any help on where to perch fish would be appreciated, you can pm me if you'd like. I'll probably dig around for some of the old F&H magazines for some more info tomorrow night. Were thinking of going on Friday if the chinook and coho fishing down on the Cowlitz doesn't go well tomorrow. Also the boat we have is a 14 foot duraboat on a trailer, is it possible to launch that at the launch at Idlywood Par?

The only public trailer launch on Sammamish is at the State Park on the south end of the Lake. As far as public access goes this is the States biggest embarrassment. Idlywood is a carry in boat launch only and it's about a hundred yards from the parking lot to the water.

yup, pretty sad there isn't a launch on the north end of the lake. There are a couple private clubs/organizations that have their own launches, but I don't have the info on them.
BTW, the perch should be just killer right now. I really like that north end in about 15 ft right along the weed line. Great fun for the kids.

Ah that sucks that it's only a cartopper launch. Don't think well be going now because we only have a 9 hp motor and it'll take forever to get to the northern part of the lake. Guess my dad wants to try hitting up Nisqually River tomorrow, also we ended up getting 1 king about 16-17lbs down on the Cowlitz today.

jb,
There are perch in the cove immediately on the left side of the boat ramp and the one off the swimming beach at the S end of the lake. I think the N end has better fishing but you should be able to have plenty of fun at the S end.
