Tiger/Panther/Mission Lakes

Post by VA2OR2WA » Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:54 pm

So, I looked up these lakes on the website and figured I would venture out to them and see what happened. I was quite disappointed to find that I wasn't able to access the shoreline of any of these lakes to try some fishing. For those of you who hit these lakes, are there any public access points that would get me on the shoreline or a dock to fish or are they mainly for use by those who have some sort of boat?

Welcome WA2OR2WA. Like the name.
You'll find that there are a couple of us on the boards here in your area. I live in Poulsbo and have fished Panther and Mission. Never seen Tiger, even though it's been just down the road before. Very bassy spots, and good for trout after the stocks. But right now with the weather the troutn is tough. Go deep.
And yes, your right about shoreline access, there is none. You'll have to invest in a tube/pontoon/canoe or small boat. Which is a good thing around here with all these kind of lakes. You can get into almost anywhere with a tube around here and they are easy to carry in if you have a little hiking to do.
Your best bet for shore fishing around here is Island Lake and Kitsap Lake. Island has a couple spots and Kitsap you can fish from the park docks or a little bit of shoreline. Other than that your looking at fishing most of the lakes right where people put there boats in at. There are a bunch more I can throw your way with decent access if you want. Just depends on how far you want to drive. SandyShores (Jefferson County), Horseshoe, etc.
So what do you fish for?
If you want you can introduce yourself in the Announcement Forum under this thread NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCE YOURSELF so we can get to know you a little better.
Hope to see ya on the water or get a chance to fish with ya some time.
