Is anyone catching anything right now, in mid february?

My friend and I are severely frustrated, and do not intend to wait until spring and summer to go fishing, and yet, we are completely and utterly unsuccessful. We have been insulted (Tradition Lake) where we were left with nothing to do but walk the Swamp Monster Trail exhibit. As if it couldn't be worse, today was the memorial for the trail's creator, Bill Longwell, God bless. We went to Rattlesnake to try out our new raft, but the wind and not reading the instructions led to disaster.
LONG STORY SHORT, is anyone having any luck anywhere in King County, or the surrounding area, at this time. PLEASE, WE NEED A LEAD!

Rattlesnake?? Are you sure you meant Rattlsnake? Rattlesnake is

RATTLESNAKE LAKE (King Co.) All Game Fish
Last Sat. in Apr.-Oct. 31 Statewide min size/daily limit. Selective gear rules.
I think you need to read the regs there TravisandWilliam. Fish Washington or Sammamish, they're putting out nice fish right now (cutthroats).

Go to some of the year-round lakes that received trout plants last spring. Feb thru March is my favorite time to fish these lakes for holdovers from last year's plants, especially when we get some consistent days with warmer-than-usual temps. You are probably not going to limit, but if you get a bite or two, it will be a nice fish.
I like to fish these lakes before they are planted in March-April. Once they are planted, it is impossible to get past the tiny stocker trout in order to get to the bigger holdovers.
The WDFW website has a list of King Co. lakes that received plants on 2007--go to the year-round lakes on the list and keep at it til you strike gold.

Exactly. Focus on year rounds in King County like Beaver, Alice, Sammamish, Washington and zero in and hone your skills. Alice, in particular, is a fun fishery before they stock it in early April.

I agree with Shad_Eating_Grin. Now is a great time to hit up those year round lakes. Less people at the lake, and your going to get bigger fish.
Im going to try to catch a stocker this april by trolling with a beer can tab. Probably will work.

Haha. I apologize. If it makes it any better, we didn't get any fishing done. This is a great site. Samammish and Washington are somewhat intimidating in a raft, we'll probably go to Lake Alice or Beaver the next chance we get. Thank you.

Smaller lakes (50 acres or less) will warm up much faster than larger lakes and the fishing should improve very soon.
It's somewhat outdated, but here's a WDFW link that might help:

Game wardens are serious about closed seasons! Last year I thought I was fishing at Flowing Lake but accidentally ended up at Storm lake, which is right across the street. It only took about 30 minutes for a game warden to show up and issue a $109 ticket. She made it very clear that ignorance is not a valid excuse for breaking the law.
I had to jump through some hoops, but eventually managed to convince the Snohomish county prosecutor that it was an honest mistake and he dismissed the ticket. It was a learning experience that I will never forget.

pretty mcuh the only thing you will hook up with easy is trout. bass are very lethargic right now so your best bet is to hit smaller trout lakes for some fishing action.
