Hello,
we are a couple from Germany and we want to visit Kirkland in August/September 2008 (because of the concert of Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge Amphitheatre).
Is there anyone, who can tell us, where we can go for fishing in Washington lake? Which kind of fishes are in the lake? In Germany we go fishing in the baltic sea for cod, in the lakes we go for carp, bass and pike (catch and release )
Excuse our bad english!!!
Looking forward for answers!!!!!!!!!!!
Biggi & Lutz

welcome to the site and welcome this summer.

Depending on fshing from shore or a boat, perch and trout are very catch-able from shore.

a boat would open up more possibilities and there are guides out there, you'd need to google search fr them as we don't currently have any guides advertising on this site for lake Washington.

Lk Washington reports section will give you plenty of ideas as to what people catch:

572 reports in the data base!

Howdy and welcome.

No need to excuse anything. We're American (mostly 'cept that "sir" feller no one's sure about) so bad english is the only kind we know.

If you are going to spend some time at the Gorge, you might want to check out the Quincy wildlife area.
Some of those lakes are stocked with Trout. Evergreen Res. has Perch, Bass, Walleyes and Tiger Muskies.

Welcome to Washingtonlakes.com and no worries about your English. I thought I would take some time to provide you with helpful information that will make the fishing portion of your trip easier. When you are in Eastern Washington (which is where the Gorge Ampatheatre is located), you might look into fishing the Columbia river with a guide. This will allow you to fish where the fish are, increasing your chances of catching your limits. I found a guide service for you to have a look at. I checked the fishing season calendar for the Columbia River on their site and found that the seasons for Summer-Run Oversize Sturgeon, Summer-Run Steelhead, Fall-Run Chinook Salmon, and Fall-Run Coho Salmon are all happening while you are there. Here is the guide’s site: http://www.kdguide.com/default.html. You can email them for more information and to make reservations. I also found a guide service I was impressed with at http://www.northlandguideservice.com/. Have a look. Eastern Washington boasts prime fishing in the lakes, ponds, and rivers throughout. You can catch rainbow, cutthroat, brown, and triploid trout, large and small mouth bass, perch, crappy, walleye, salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon to name a few. Here is the licensing information you will need. It’s not terribly expensive to fish here if you are a non resident. You can purchase a 1 to 5 day license for between 14.50 and 34.50 US dollars. This will allow you to fish the lakes and rivers for the amount of days you choose. The licensing site is at; https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/licenses_fees.html. The lakes will all be open while you are here. By July it will be warm out and the water temp will be up. This is prime time for bass, perch, and walleye fishing in the lakes. The trout seem to become less interested in feeding when it is warm in the summer but the other species should keep you busy if the trout aren’t willing to bite. Some of the resort lakes like Mardon Resort on the potholes reservoir offer boat rentals so if you want to do some boat fishing on a lake, this can be an option for you. Go to www.mardonresort.com for more information. Lastly another resort option for some lake fishing by boat is Coulee Play land, http://www.couleeplayland.com/. They have boat rentals and the fishing can be great there on Banks lake. Well, I hope this information helps you have a great trip. Good luck and enjoy your stay.
