Using "No-Knot - Fas-Snap" devices

The "No-Knot - Fas-Snap" connecting links are easily available from Cabela's and many other sources. In my freshwater trolling I usually use them to connect plugs, spoons, and straight-line spinners to my line. Never use them for flies, jigs, or spinnerbaits, although I'm not sure just why - they don't seem "right" for some applications. I hardly ever hear of anyone else using them. Is this product the sign of a rank amateur or what? Seem to work great for quick lure changes. Never see them mentioned in the magazines, BASS Master, In-Fisherman etc. There is a competing product which has a more rounded appearance than the Fas-Snap. Never seen anyone else but me using them, either. Any comments would be studied and appreciated. Thanks.
