Ever wonder what Lake Tapps looks like when the water is down to view structure you may want to later fish? If you use Google Earth, go to Lake Tapps, click on [View], select [Historical Imagery] and go back to the 3/3/2005 image. Image shows the lake when the water level was down. When your cursor moves over the image, you can note the GPS location to hit that spot when the lake is full. Granted, the image is now 9 years old, but I don't think that much has changed to not make it useful.

How do you keep that stupid web site from changing the view from overhead to level view? It keeps doing that and screwing up what I'm trying to see.

You need to use the Google Earth program and install it onto your computer (not Google Maps):
http://www.google.com/earth/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In Google Earth, if you see a button on the top right [Exit ground level view], click that to get the view from above. Don't click on the orange man and drag him to the image, or you'll go back to street level view.

It is google earth, and I have no idea what that orange man thing is for, and I don't remember if I've clicked off 'Exit ground level view' thing. I'll look.

I haven't fished Tapps, but that is COOL! Something worth searching for wherever you fish. Thanks, KevinS!

That was some cool information I didn't even know I could do. I fish Lake Tapps a lot, and that 2005 photo showed me a couple under water ridges I didn't even know about. It also showed me why there are places I consistantly do well. Anyway, thanks for the information. I have already passed in on to a couple of my bass fishing buddies.
