Hello,

I was many times on Pine lake this summer to fish for Trout. I think it was a good year and i catched ....many :-)
This is my first winter in the states (Washington) and i have no idea what, where and how to fish in the winter.
I would like to go fishing this week....but i need some advice here.
I dont have a boat so i only can fish from the shore.
I have something like a lake fishing guide, but i dont know which lake im allowed to fish now.
Can someone recomend a lake near Bellevue?
Im rly new to all this fishing stuff and i hope someone can help me here a little.

Best bet is Beaver Lake. It's a year round lake. They release a bunch of big brood stock trout in the fall. Good luck

Try a river out. All Newbies to the rivers should start by watching and learning first. If you go to a few spots and watch how different people do it things will go easier. Read a few books and some articles. If you like to catch trout then youll love steelhead and salmon. It will take a small investment to get started. The rods your using for lakes might work but are not ideal for fishing in the rivers. Anyways I hope you can get ya some fish this winter.

Lake Washington fishes best during the winter and spring for trout, if you can only fish from a dock. Go to any of the public docks along the Bellevue shoreline. A good day might get you 2-3 bites/fish for a couple hours of fishing. A typical day is skunk. But its better than fishing for trout from the LkWA docks during the summer, when your chances for a trout are much lower.

I catch big trout in the winter on the last dock at coulon. Been a few years though.

Yes gene coulon. The north side of coulon park. Which is south side of lake washington in renton. There really isnt a fishing pierre but lots of big docks to fish off of. Lake washington is a year round lake. Good luck out there

I understand that you are new to Washington fishing, etc. But just to help yourself out, you should pick up a copy of the regulations at most tackle stores. This way you will know which lakes are open year round, etc. along with general guidelines for what is allowed and what is not. Also, I should point out that WA. state's fishing rules are quite involved compared to other states. The regulation book will give information as to, "Special rules" for different lakes, rivers, etc. What they are listing in there, is rules that are "Out of the ordinary" standard state regulations. So if you don't see your lake listed in terms of... it doesn't tell you what the dates of the open fishing season is..... then that lake is open year round. So, they do not give a list of which lakes are open year round. A lake will only be listed at all, if there is something odd-ball about the lake, i.e. short season, baitless,barbless gear, chumming allowed, open to juveniles only, etc. etc.

Also regarding your searching Lake WA. with google earth for fishing piers,, You should do a google search for something like, Lake WA. "Parks" You should come up with all sorts of little parks on all parts of the lake. Many of these parks have docks which are perfect for fishing. I am thinking of a park called, Waverly park, in Kirkland. It has nice benches, clean, restrooms, etc. Luther Burbank park on Mercer Island, is another one. The Shoreline area in Magnusson Park, on the Westside of the lake can be good for bass in warmer times. There is also a large pier in the NOAH weather center on the very N. end of Magnusson park.
