Blackman's lake Snohomish county
My brother and I thinking about checking out the lake anybody fished there?
Will the launch handle a 15 ft aluminum smoker craft?
What is the parking situation crowded, small?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The parking there is fine, as far as the boat launch, the lake is a little high, you might get your tail gate a little wet. There are two parks on it, and the fish aren't really biting yet, but they get some big ones there.

Nate: I too found fishing at Blackmans to be slow... Until I changed my tactics. I went from doing the powerbait thing to throwing a F-5 Rapala and immediately started increasing numbers of fish caught. Went out day before yesterday in my buddies drifter and between the two of us landed between 20-30 12-14". We had many more takedowns and even a few doubles. No big ones on that outing though. This increase in hook-ups may also have something to do with the hatchery truck that made a dump last week.

Been to Blackmans a few times this year and have only managed one small stocker. This was about 2 weeks ago though. The launch is a little shallow for a bigger boat, I hope u have a truck to haul it...People back in there boats at the launch and just stay parked there after drop off which is kinda cool...unless its full! I bottom fished with worms but I hear many big fish are being taken on rapalas.

I've never used a rapala ffor trout, I'm going to have to get one. I've been there twice in the last week and it was really slow and I threw everything from spoons to worms. That may be the secret weapon. I'd been there since the dump too. I'm gonna take the boat next time, I got there and realized I forgot the oars :bounce:JWS wrote:Nate: I too found fishing at Blackmans to be slow... Until I changed my tactics. Thanks everyone for all the info, we are gonna leave the boats home and take the inflatables. We plan to throw some flies at them, but if they don't like my patterns we can always switch to raps. I will post later today how the trip went.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

The stocking page seems to indicate they just stocked Blackman's. I live within 10mins of Blackmans and have launched my 14' Meyers Laker with ease.
I have a couple of Rapala floating minows ( Orange and Tiger ). Are these the Rapalas your speaking of?
Me gonna have to get out there....hopefully this weekend.
Yeehaw!
