I cannot really give you any ideas about shore fishing on Lake Samammish. There is the park of course, but I would not consider it a place to fish. If I am wrong, somebody else can speak up to this. I am not aware of any public docks on this lake.
You did say that you in Bellevue.. or somewhere near Samammish?? For shore fishing I would try Beaver lake or Pine lake. Pine has a dock, and Beaver has a park with shore access. Phantom lake later in the year when the water warms also.
If you look under King County lakes in the index... and then pick lakes that are within your range of driving... you can read all the previous reports to see what you think you want to try.
Welcome to the group.:bball:

I agree with Quad. Just a note, Beaver Lake is open all year, but Pine Lake doesn't open until the end of April.

If you want to give shore fishing a shot in Sammamish, run down to Idlywood Park. It is a public park, has a dock you can fish off of and has plenty of parking. It is on the northwest end of the lake and is also a good place to launch portable boats, float tubes, kayaks and canoes.

outalong the shore of the state park by the mouth of Issaquah creek .Also all the big fish hang around the creek mouth after smolt releases.Big trout love king smolt (hint hint) go to the hatchery they,ll tell you when they dump all smoltsicles in .It stays good for a couple weeks then the smolt head out deep and then you need a boat.Cast out floating Rapalas in trout color .Cuttthroat kill em early morning also some big smallmouth:-$

I'm with Cudaman on that one! Get some waders and hit the mounth of the creek. Good for Trout, Kokes and Smallies, there may even be some white fish frome time to time. If you target smallies work your way toward the boat launch. The flats can be good. Come to think of it I've caught a number of nice trout in the boat launch area too. 45 years on a lake makes a guy think hard about where he's caught fish.
