Last time I was there, Failor Lake had its own primitive camping spots, but one would need to get their pretty early to snag one. Another great option in that area is Lake Sylvia in Montesano. Sylvia is a state park with camping grounds throughout. Hope this helps.

Just got back today. Taht's actually where we camped out. At Lake Sylvia, then just drove to Failor Lake a few times. Man, it takes almost 1 hr to get there, cuz it's slow as hell going through Hoquim and that dirt road to the lake. :-&

But Lake Sylvia is dead for the most part. The SO managed to catch 1 BIG trout there. ~20-22". We were fishing off the bridge, adjacent to the dam/spillway. Lost it, as we were trying to get it out of the water. Line snapped at the hook. After that, we went and bought a net. :bom: We found a big dead trout a day later, on the shore near where we fished. We assume that was her fish.
I only caught 1 small trout there. There were other people there in boats and stuff. For the most part, they were pretty slow also.

At Failor Lake, I was on fire. Caught a bunch. Also caught a 19" fat bow there. I wanted to release that one, but I'm pretty sure it wouldnt have survived because of the hooking location. So I gave it away to this family that was on the lake. SO left the camera in the truck, and only had her camera phone.

The SO got skunked at Failor, the entired time we were out there. She did have 2 hits, but both missed.

PS, I noticed that the trout over there fought much fiercer than the ones around here.
