Just heard that the Entiat River is opening up for spring chinook fishing and I have no clue what to use. What pound test line? How big are they?
Thanks

RE:Entiat River
Well, I don't really have an answer to any of your questions, but right now the river is up a bit and with all the rain we've been having expect it to go up more. You might want to check the flow charts for whatever section of river that you want to fish before you head out. I remember hearing that fall chinook fishing was a definite go, I think from either the hatchery on down or from the city limit sign on down (several miles apart, I know :P), but I thought that any spring fishing below Entiat Falls was just a proposal. I'm not sure though, so you might want to cantact DWF. Their Entiat # is 784-1591.
I know nothing about salmon fishing, but if they eat fish then you may want to go with something like that cause the river has a lot of little 'bows and steelies.
I live right on the river so please let us know what you end up doing/finding out. I'd love to try my hand at salmoning, especially right out my back door! That would sure save gas as opposed to driving past the Falls going after brookies.
Hope that helped!

You can use bait so use eggs, shrimp
If it looks fishy, Then fish it, If it dont look fishy, fish it anyways. <')}}}}><

Ok, it turns out that during my 8 years of living on the river I never learned how to read it right. Rather than going up because of the rains it is dropping steadily. And fishing is ok at least as far as the hatchery for sure, and I think it ends there. So sorry for misleading you and all that. There's a bunch of people taking advantage of the new fishing, but I don't know how they're doing. So ya.
