Is Moss bay in SLU? Or is it near Kirkland?

Anyone know for how long? Does it mean the fishing is not possible?

There is a document called the List of Approved Fisheries (LOAF). Its a voluntary agreement between the Tribes and the WDFW that sets forth the net fisheries that the Tribes will do. The WDFW has no jurisdiction over the Tribes and the Tribes don't have to abide by LOAF if they don't want to. Below is the section that applies to Lake Wash for Coho. The Tribes could start fishing the Lake as early as 9/24 if the count is over 10,000 and can continue to fish it until 11/12 five days a week if they want to.

Lower ship canal (below Ballard Locks)
If the ISU is > than 10,000 the fishery could open as early as Wk 37 (wb 9/10) – Wk 44 (wb 10/29) with the fishing pattern up to 7 days per week (Sun – Sat).
Upper ship canal (above Ballard Locks):
If the ISU is > than 10,000 the fishery could open as early as Wk 37 (wb 9/10) – Wk 44 (wb 10/29) with the fishing pattern up to 5 days per week (Sun – Fri).
North end Lake Washington (North of Hwy. 520 bridge):
If the ISU is > than 10,000 the fishery could open Wk 39 (wb 9/24) – Wk 46 (wb 11/12) with the fishing pattern up to 5 days per week (Sun – Fri).

In the Lake, pretty hard to compete with a gillnet. Head for the salt. I don't know what kind of boat you have. You need a reasonably seaworthy boat with down riggers. Launch at either Shilshole (Golden Gardens) or the sling launch at Edmonds. The run has decreased a lot but this rain should bring in some fresh fish.

Edmonds is spendy, 30-40 bucks to launch, but the fishing starts as soon as you leave the Marina. Shilshole costs I think 10 bucks. But launching in the dark there is interesting and parking can be a problem..

Fishing has slowed down a lot since Sept but should be a few more fish to come. Check the marine forecast first. If the forecast wind is 20, stay home, even 15 is dicey for a smaller boat.
