Beaver or Pine for bank fishing with kids?

Post by rmerikle » Tue Jun 02, 2015 12:02 pm

This weekend is the free fishing weekend. I will be taking out a couple of families for a picnic and fishing. From what I see it looks like Beaver or Pine Lake will be the best. Any thoughts on which is better. While yes catching fish is important just as important or more important is to have a picnic area to keep the parents and kids happy and content. Thanks in advance.

Beaver has a nice grassy area and often you can set up your picnic on the shore where you fish.
Pine has a nice fishing pier, some nice picnic areas, and a playground, but can be crowded.

I like taking my family to pine. Nice clear clean water to play in aswell as a lot of toys for kids to play with if they don't want to fish. I catch more trout at pine aswell. Use about a five foot leader sometimes more.
