RE:Lake Washington
Will you be fishing from a boat?
Where you plan on launching if you got a boat?
Lemme know and then I'll help you out from there...

I have a small 11.5 footer with an electric trolling motor and I plan on launching from coulon
RE:Lake Washington
That's a good little setup for a lot of smaller lakes around here, but you should still be able to fish that thing really well on the big lake. I fish off a 12' Lund with a 15 hp yamaha and Minn Kota trolling motor. Works great for anything from small trout lakes to the big saltwater stuff.
Anyways, there is a lot of good cutthroat fishing down on the south end of the lake. There will be tons of sockeye smolt pouring out of the Cedar, so there will be a ton of baitfish for those cutts around there. Try any spinner or spoon or flatfish and I bet you'll get some hits. These cutthroats can get really hungry, so just try and put something in their face, and if they don't wack it, switch it up. I haven't done much trout fishing, but I've learned a lot about it from all these fishing forums. I will be out Saturday morning down there on the south end fishing for them, so maybe you'll see us if your out there. It will be two of us in a red Lund with those two motors.
Honestly, I can't help you out with the crappie. I have never fished for them, but I know that Lake Union is a popular spot for them. You also might wanna try all those pilings near I-405 just north of coulon on the east side of the lake. That might hold some, but again, I don't fish for them, so don't trust me on that.
Crawdads are really all over the place. Try and stick away from a muddy bottom, so just look for rocky bottoms on your fishfinder and drop a pot in about 20-30 feet of water. Best bait i've found: Perch. Catch a few, slice em up really good to get the scent slick going, then put em in the trap. I usually leave my pots overnight, I don't get many in daytime on that lake.
Anyways, good luck to you gpc. Look for us if your out there this saturday morning....
