I got that e-mail. I wasn't trying to buy anything, so it didn't effect me, so I'm not going to take advantage of it.

I also wasn't looking at the website but got the email. Only good on the website or catalog.

Re: Cabela's customers- $10Gift Cert due to Website error
No, I just had a chat with Clifford H. from Cabela's chat. He said about an hour ago the page just went blank. Try it again later.goodtimesfishing wrote:what is the promo code? when i click get promo code nothing happens. I think my computer is blocking it. Is it a pop up?
I wonder if the hacker who hacks Washington Lakes hacked Cabela's?

Re: Cabela's customers- $10Gift Cert due to Website error
I got 500 free swivels and 20 1/2oz Thill Big fish slider floats, for $.12 each. The question now is, will they actually send it.

That's interesting. Were you on the Cabelas website trying to order swivels/floats, and due to a website malfunction, the shopping cart priced out the swivels for free and the floats for 12 cents? Would be interesting if they actually send them--let us know. That would be a quite a bit of good luck if they send them.losaturn wrote:I got 500 free swivels and 20 1/2oz Thill Big fish slider floats, for $.12 each. I got the email for the free $10 promo code, so I went and used it on things that were under $3.00. That way, the whole cost including tax and shipping, would be under $10.00. What I found out, is that you could use the same email, and generate numerous rebate codes. When the rebate was first issued, they made no mention on limit per person, until they changed it later. Unscrupulous I know, but I placed well over 40 orders. Ended up receiving over half of the items (400+ rolling swivels, and 10 floats). I initially had to pay $.12 for each float after using the $10 rebate, but they ended up refunding all my money, even though I received half my order of floats (used them on the Green Sunday, but didn't like them nearly as much as the Beau Mac ones).

That is amazing! I wished I had seen that loop hole wiith the multi-rebate usage.losaturn wrote:I got the email for the free $10 promo code, so I went and used it on things that were under $3.00. wow...wish i knew!
Re: Cabela's customers- $10Gift Cert due to Website error
Am I understanding this right? That you propagated (40) $10.00 promo codes, and used all toward items priced under $3.00. So, with tax and shipping there was little to no cost to you for each order?losaturn wrote:I got the email for the free $10 promo code, so I went and used it on things that were under $3.00. What is not so clear is. Some of your orders were filled, money on those orders refunded? How many of the 40 orders have been shipped? Yet to receive or have been refunded?
Thats a lot of ordering........LOL!
Re: Cabela's customers- $10Gift Cert due to Website error
That's right, 40+ orders all totaling under $10 an order, except for the 20 floats that cost $.12ea.
I received 27 items of the original 41 items I ordered. What happened was, they couldn't get authorization to charge my credit card, so I had to call and speak with them. They told me some of the orders were canceled at the warehouse, as she read me back the order. Apparently a lot of orders she told me, were being canceled since people were taking advantage of the promotion. I was like, you don't say.................. Anyways she unfroze most of my orders after getting my credit card info, and that was the end of our conversation. Four hours later, I get a message on my answering machine that my order couldn't be processed, since there was now a 1 promo code limit per customer. It went on to say all but one order was canceled, and that my account would be credited.
Didn't care one way or the other, so I didn't call them back. Mid way through last week, I came home to a door step covered in those yellow bubble wrapped envelopes. Went and checked my account, and I was credited back all $2.40 I spent on the floats.
There was a downside however. My Cabela's account was hacked, which led to my Amazon account being hacked as well. At the time, my login info was all the same. Since I had my credit card saved onto my Amazon account, they tried to buy a bunch of stuff, including pre-ordering a copy of Halo 4. Luckily I have over draft protection, so the order couldn't go through. Had to change all my login info, and erase my saved credit card info before closing my account. Luckily again, my credit card number was ***** out.

(Integrity) = Doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Some folks have it and some don't I guess.
Sorry to hear about the hacked accounts. Karma?

The 14 orders that were to be cancelled, Cabelas didn't offer to charge full freight (cost of each order) and charge to your credit card, and therefore fill the order.......? LOL!losaturn wrote:That's right, 40+ orders all totaling under $10 an order, except for the 20 floats that cost $.12ea.

Were you using a Cabelas card or anther Card to charge to?
Thinking through this. $410 in Cabelas coupon credit promo codes, toward goods. But had a two day time limit/expiration. Of that, $270 was the net coupon credit, due to 14 orders were cancelled by Cabelas. Minus 60%, which went to shipping (Cabelas minimum shipping charge is $5.95). Now were down to $98.65 that went toward actual items. Minus tax, but for each order $10 or less, there was no tax. So no subtraction for tax. Except the 2.41 would have been a combination of tax, and charges for orders totaling more than 10 bucks. But that was credited back to your card, so no deduction for that. But, not easy to purchase items totaling exactly $10, including the $5.95 minimum shipping charge........minus 10% for that. Now we have a net $90 in purchase dollars for actual items.
How close is my guess?. No harm no foul, not judging, just curious.
I was reading post after post on the internet. Links for items costing $4 or less, were left by persons ordering a pair of socks form the Bargain Cave. In order to stay under the $10 thresh hold, when shipping and tax were added to the total. Lot's of folks thanking so and so for the link, and the free pair of socks. it was a feeding frenzy, I tell you......LOL!
What kind of stuff did you get besides floats, snap swivels, and lead weights? Any pairs of socks?
