Good fly fishing spots near Redmond, Wa

Post by fullstringer98 » Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:37 pm

Hi guys I have been away from the site for several months but after I got my new fly rod I decided to reactivate my account. I am going to try the Sammamish river in Woodinville tomorrow with my 9' 5 wt rod. Does anyone know of any other spots near Redmond that will produce with fly fishing? Thanks, Jarin Jones :salut:

Are you shorebound? If not, there are nice small lakes in the area. Not sure which are open yet.

If you've got a tube, check the washington state stocking report on Alice lake over near you. Of course check if it is open first as well.

Langlois, Margaret are good bets. Check the regs, they may not be open quite yet.

I looked on wdfw and there supposed to stock lake Margaret with 10000 fish this month. I cant wait to catch that first fish on my fly rod after all of my practice casting, This places report looks like it will be way better than cottage lake.

Another spot to look forward to will be the Cedar River in the season. There are really nice rainbows in it and they get surprisingly big. When you want to look for a real challenge, try sight casting and nymphing for carp there in Lake Sammamish. A five pound carp on a 5 wt from a float tube will be a lot of fun.
