where can you catch squawfish

where can you catch squawfish

I don't have a boat I can use but I want to try to catch squawfish for trap bait. i live near bellevue and was wondering if anybody knows any places that i could catch them from the shore?

Without a boat it will be tough. I have caught them in Mason Lk in Mason,Co. also in Lk Ozette over by Forks.
My Dad would say," Boy, some people just can't fish"

Lots of them in Lake Wa, where to look though????? I catch them from a boat, Juanita Bay routinely.

i could go to the east side of lake washington also what rig is the best? and what bait other then worms?

Fish off the public docks on the Bellevue shoreline parks on Lake Washington. I've caught them using worms or nightcrawlers. When I see others intentionally targeting them, they are using chunks of cheese.

so use chees to catch them effectively? like what kind of cheese?

I dont know about on the westside but anytime you see the smallmouth hitting topwater you also have squawfish on the snake river, so maybe anywhere there is an abundance of baitfish

Out here in thurston. They are in black river. Hell i love catching squaw fish they actually taste amazing my friend dont think so tho.
