Also I hooked into and brought to the surface a Jet Ski fully intact and sunk to the bottom right behind Haystack rock on Banks.
Yep!!!!! Seen that too from the tube. I think she must have a little "Biz" going there. I've seen guys launch at the ramp and row right over and go in. They always came out with a smile. Never semed to fish too long........

Hmmm, how to put this? I think we may have an increase in Panther lake reports this year. Wait! I haven't done a Feature Lake yet. Something to put on my "to do" list.

Let me know when you go. I've never 'fished' that lake. Image

I'll be sure to bring a 'worm'. Image

Also been buzzed by military jets. Fishing a resevior in Nebraska. Apparently they come out of Colorado and do exercises in the area. Two of them came up the valley, tipped thier wings as they went by and waved to us from the cockpit. I thought it was awesome - my dog, not so much!

++++

Fishing the Duwamish at that little park at the end of Diagonal Rd a few years ago. Sunny weekday nobody there but me on the bank and a boat with a grampa, dad, & boy (about 14) trolling back I forth. Van pulls up, two guys and a girl get out and walk down about 50' from me. One guy holding a camera, the other just standing nearby. Proceeded to do a nude photo shoot of the girl on the beach and against the rocks. The guys in the boat suddenly decided to anchor just off the beach and start tossing spinners. Overheard dad tell the boy on the boat "don't tell your mother about this". Nobody caught anything, but I don't think any of us cared.

Found a batman pole while fishing for pinks at Thomas Eddy a few years ago.

Just yesterday on the Sky my bobber went down, set the hook, and pulled in a nice new wood Thill float along with about 30' of line.

One of the cooler things I saw was during a fishing/boating trip up in the San Juans with friends. We were moored by James Island one morning and standing on deck after breakfast. A seagull was flying up the bay and out of nowhere an eagle came down and attacked the seagull. The seagull was able to stay in the air and keep going, but then a second eagle showed up and they started tag-teaming this sea gull. One would swoop in for a strike and then the next from the opposite direction. It was like watching jet fighters attack an airliner. The seagull was able to evasively fend off 3 or 4 of these hits before they drove it to the water and then it defended off a couple more attacks from there before one of the eagles came in from behind and grabbed it by the neck, plucking it from the water, and carried it to the shore, which was obviously a heavy burden as the eagle was doing well to keep the seagull from dragging in the water. Once on shore, the other eagle joined it and the feasted......my wife, friends, and I were just dumbstruck the whole time. What a show! Nature at it's best.

Once while heading up the Yakima delta to target bass, my brother and I came across four deer (one buck and three does) swimming across the channel. They were a good 200 yards from any shore (lots of little islands there and lots of shallows too), but making good headway. They didn't seem to care we were in the area, but we gave them wide birth anyway.

And on another bass trip with my brother by Crow Butte State Park on the Columbia, we came across 2 ft. rattlesnake out in the middle of the waterway (at least 100 yards from shore). It was doing a poor job of swimming as it must have been cold......Always wondered if it was out there voluntarily or if a Redtail might have dropped it. No signs of injury though.

On one occasion I came across a lady sunbathing topless on the shore of Bumping Lake. Unfortunately I had a bunch of my younger cousins with me though, so had to make an effort to avoid the "scenery".....sigh.

Love reading the stories.....keep'em coming.

My fishing partner and I were driving around some old roads in the woods in Mason Co looking for places to fish from our tubes. Driving by a side road, I saw something odd...a damn Emu was wandering around. We got the bright idea to stop and run after it. That was fun for about 30 seconds when the Emu got tired of being chased. He stopped, looked at us, then started walking kinda fast towards us. We ran like hell back to the truck and laughed and laughed at how a bird was gonna kick our butts.

I remember, that same river trip started with going past skinny dippers (female). 20 years old, I was definitely" affected" .
A nice g-rated memory I have is fishing the San Juans and having a pod of orcas run along side the boat (we were trolling ) close enough to reach over and touch. Amazing!

Hah, this one was kind of funny. Curado and I were out fishing for Sturgeon on the Snoho a few weeks back and we caught this little dude as it floated by. My guess is it was probably washed out of someones place when the river flooded bigtime a few weeks prior.

On the way out to Forks friday night at about 130 am around soleduc we were driving through the snow and thought we saw a deer by the side of the road, so we slow down a bit to catch a look. As it got into the headlights I realized that it was not a deer, or an elk, or a cow or a bear, it was a real life genuine cougar. I saw it's long tail flit and it whiskers nose and everything, not twenty feet from our car. I think it must have been a juvenile male, because they usually don't come that close to civilization. We were not even 15 miles out of forks proper. Keep an eye on your dogs and chickens out there forks!

That's awesome! I'd replace the baton with a fishing pole and mount him somehwhere on the boat for luck!

On the G rated side;

An interesting thing I saw last year was a Bald Eagle swoop down and grab a fish out of Cocolalla slew off the P.O. river. it started to fly off with it and out of nowhere a huge Golden Eagle attacks the Bald Eagle. They has a loud screatching battle for about 2 minites, till the bald Eagle finally dropped the fish. Then the Golden picked it up and flew off.

On the kinda R rated side;

I saw this interesting ROCK while hiking down in Utah. I'm not going to post the Pixs here so if you want to see you will have to fallow the link. It really is just a rock that mother nature made, but it's a strange one.

My grandpa took my brother and I fishing for winter steelhead when I was about 6-8 years old on the Tolt River upstream from the highway bridge and we happened to run into a group of people shooting a porn.[blush] All's I remember is that there was a whole bunch of guys and one rather large woman. The "Producers" appologized, but heck I had seen/heard worse by that age anyways. All I knew at the time was, it was the middle of the winter and it was waaaayyy to cold to jump into the water naked.:shaking2: [scared]

As a young teen, I used to row a little 8' pram around the bay near Virginia Point.
Rowing at night once and the phosophorescent stuff was real pretty whenever the oars went into the water.

Suddenly there was a light streak from below and something hammered the oar, splashing phosphorescent spray all over.
Always wondered what it was.

son and I saw a eagle eating dinner like he or she was on a picnic today I didn't see the swoop down to the water and pick the fish up I missed that part but this eagle was just taunting us fisher folks out on the beaver today as he was the only one to catch a fish all day.
