WDFW Access site upgrade at Silver Lake, Spokane County

Post by hewesfisher » Tue Sep 04, 2007 7:44 pm

Just thought I'd post a little info on the WDFW proposed upgrades to the access site at Silver Lake. The boat launch here is bad and has been for years, but it looks like WDFW is proposing to build a new launch with a loading dock AND a separate area for fishing. This will really improve user access and enjoyment at this lake where people trying to launch a boat have to work around folks fishing, swimming, and partying at the boat launch.

I know there are stong opinions on both sides of this issue, and I have strong opions on it myself, but the proposed changes should appease everyone except swimmers and the party crowd. IMO, those activities aren't appropriate at wildlife access sites anyway, and the new WDFW Public Conduct rule change should address that.

I'll ty to get a copy of the access proposal and post it here.

Thanks for sharing. That will really help out with launching. I looked under my bass boat this spring and could not believe how scratched up it is from launching there since 2002.....Crazy.
