I am new to Lake Merwin & Koknee fishing, have a good old boat but need advice on fishing for the koknee at Lake Merwin.
I have a trolling motor on the boat, just bought a down rigger & started teaching myself about trolling . After the first couple of trys Ive found out that I have a LOT to learn. Do any of you out there fish this lake or have any tips that you could pass on to this old pilgrim??

RE:New To Fishing & Lake Merwin
OK , I dont mind talking to my self, in fact I do it a lot these days!!!
I just got back from Lake Merwin after fishing fo the Kokanee a couple of days and like I said in my first post I have a lot to learn but I did manage to get 4 nice ones. I was fishing in over 100ft. of water & running the downrigger between 50 & 80 ft. using wedding rings with corn and other types of kokanee lures .
My main problem was in locating the fish, they seem to be scattered and not in schools. The ones that did show up on my fish finder were laying right on the bottom between 80 & 120 ft.
On my next trip I am thinking of going closer to the Dam & deeper water.
Any suggestions???................Thanks for your help!!

I wish I could offer you some constructive help in this, but I don't know the first thing about kokanee (did I spell it right?)
