Hey everyone, the 2016 Fall Walleye Index Report is ready to go. Please email me at Michael.Schmuck@dfw.wa.gov with the subject 'Walleye Report' (without the quotes) and I will send you a copy of the report.
BTW, the Alder Street Fill in Moses Lake should be getting good soon. I was there yesterday and while the flows are not much yet, the lake is full and we should be seeing walleye moving up into Crab Creek soon. This is a great opportunity to catch some good fish. It is not complicated. This is a drift fishery with a jig and grub. Use a heavy enough jig to keep your bait bouncing along the rocky bottom and be ready for a light bite. The key to catching walleye here is to be able to discern between the tap of a walleye and the tap of a rock. The difference is often subtle, but those who have learned it will be rewarded with plenty of walleye.
Here is a video that does a great job of explaining this unique fishery.
