PRE-SPAWN CRAPPIE
Pre-spawn Crappie can be a hit and miss but when you happen to find them schooled up they you can catch several before they get spooked. I find that a slow jigging retrieve will get many of them to bite. Here are a few that I got from one of the Yakima area ponds/lakes.

I have not eaten warm water fish in years seing crappie and small bass on a stringer literally made my mouth water lol.

Was able to get out today to look for some more crappie. Took home 6 crappie 11''for the biggest and 7 1/2" on the small of which I caught over 2 doz. They liked a smaller jig 1 1/2" in white with a little flash. anything bigger they would nip the tail.

awesome fish guys. i have been wondering where to fish for some nice crappie. I grew up in toppenish but have always just done trout. i love crappie and catfish though. where were these caught?

There are probably better folks to ask than me (Jigmeister and fishinChristian, for example), but most of the I-82 ponds have crappie in them. Pond #6 has channel catfish (state record came out of here), and I think some of the other I82 ponds do as well, although I don't know how big the populations are. There are also crappie in some of the Yakima area lakes (I believe Rotary and Myron, for example). Lots of channel catfish at the mouth of the Yakima, the mouth of the Palouse, and the mouth of the Walla Walla rivers, especially in June or so.
Check out some of the fishing reports, and you'll definitely see where folks are finding crappie and catfish.

Thanks for the compliment tluedeke. I recommend people access the site below if they want to find out what is officially (oaf-fishally??) in a lake.
