Evergreen lake tiger muskie plant

Today Bill and I had a great time helping Kyle from the WDFW hatchery at Ringold. He drove a tank full of baby tiger muskies up to Evergreen Lake. The windy conditions made it unsafe to use their boat so we released them, a few at a time, around the western shoreline using the net. On the way there I wondered if we were crazy for going because the blowing dust was so bad but out there at the lake it wasn't dusty, just WINDY. It was good to be able to help out since the department is so short-handed. We were also glad to have been there because some careless camper had left embers burning in their campfire and it had started a small wildfire along the lakeshore. The three of us worked at keeping the fire contained until the fire department tank truck arrived to douse the whole area. Jani is going to post some pictures for me since I can't figure out how to.

Wish I was there, Wind or no Wind! Thanks Rosann and Mr. Bill, Kyle may still be fighting the white caps if you 2 didn't volunteer! Thanks to you too Mr Kyle, glad to see there were enough tigers to stock Evergreen. How many did they plant? How about the other lakes, is this info posted somewhere?

We are very grateful to the WDFW for doing such a fantastic job rearing and stocking these little guys.
They were fat and happy.

Why so few for Curlew? Do they think the population is large enough and stable enough to not warrant a bigger plant? It's a good sized lake. I can understand so few in Evergreen.

Not sure. I know the WDFW bases those decisions on a formula that the biologists use. And from what we have all seen, there is happy population in there; some of the biggest girls in WA. The whole club is going to be there in September for the 24 Hour EsoxAganza.

Biggest Musky I've ever seen have been at Curlew. I love that lake. Never went a day without seeing at least one tiger or hooking into one incidentally while bass fishing. My family and I will be up there for a few days in July to hit the bass and musky.

I'll look into that EsoxAganza:cheers: Maybe I can convince my dad to bring the boat up and partake in the activities.:compress:
