trippy fish.

heres a trip... i was fishin for steelies with a mega hook, and a large live sand shrimp on a drift fishing set up, well, weird thing is, i caught a whitefish, big sucker too!!! 19 1/2 inches. i am so lost on why there are whitefish in Canyon creek. i wonder if its tasty at all.... i gutted it, it was a male. its in my freezer. :)

That is a big one. I caught one on the Carbon that I brought home and fried in butter with salt and pepper (more of a saute). To me it tasted like a trout. I have heard they are very good smoked. In fact you can buy smoked whitefish online.

Good fish to eat from what I hear. Never had it myself. Caught a little dinky one at the snoqualmie weekend before last. Threw him back though, wasn't big enough to even get a decent fillet out of it. Toni's recipe sounds good though. I'd try that.

I caught a 17 incher on the green last year and smoked it and it was very good
