Thoughts? Audubon society says it's the dams not the birds. Having grown up here I'm pretty sure I witnessed an increase in both Cornorants and Sealions....maybe no one factor is wholly to blame?

Those birds kill more than salmon and steelhead. Never saw cormorants on the local lake until 2 maybe 3 years ago, and I've been fishing that lake for 40 plus years, since '73 or '74.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Seals are native to Washington so that will never happen but California sea lions are not native to these waters and are far more destructive then our smaller native seals. I'm all about getting rid of sea lions but seals not so much. What's next orcas? I doubt that!Blunatic wrote:So....when do we get to start bonking seals?

I grew up living on the lake Washington near Seward Park. I've seen cormorants for years especially right off both I90 and 520. I see them all over the lake. For years I thought they should let us shoot them. They are all over the Green River in King county.

Perhaps we can get back to some of your culinary posts?

Nice to have you back.
