This will be my first year fishing winter steelhead.....actually, first steelhead period......Gong to try me hand at it. That just makes me want to even more!

Never fished for Steelhead before. Where would be a good place and time for a Novice from the East Coast to start? I live in Silverdale, WA. Any places near here that I could be productive?

On a side note. Im itching to go fish for them in the salt.

It'll be a while yet guys. We're still killing limits of chrome silvers! Take it as it comes. We're going to put a MASSACRE on those steelhead next month.

haha I live in silverdale too and the best place to fish for them is over 1 1/2 hours away, closest place that has any hatchery steelhead is just over an hour. PM me and I will let you know where I fish at.

im hoping we will see better numbers this year! Last year was a bit tougher season, but every year is different, and things seem to always be better on pink years.

I spend my money on stuff that helps me catch fish... good hooks, floats, rods/reels. No 700$ pair of Simms is gonna help me on the river. Besides, neoprene is Warm in the winter

I can guarantee most Simms are warmer than neoprene. More durable, easier to move around in and made in the USA.

Cant agree more. Simms are nice, I have pair that my biologist

st brother gave me. But

my hodgmens work just fine.you can buy alot of gear with 5 to 7 hundred dollars blown on waders.

I'm thinking of getting neoprene waders for this season, by the time i put 3-4 layers on to stay warm in my current waders I feel like that kid in the Christmas Story and can't move very well. Hoping to cut it to 1-2 layers with neoprene and move easier.

Being fat works for me . I am built for cold weather and wear my breathables all season. Maybe if its below freezing I will put on some long johns.

Looks like we are going to get some rain. I'm hoping it will bring up the water level so I can do some fishing Fri.

I got a great pair of camo neoprene waders from cabelas. I love them. $130

I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I have owned other waders but my Simms waders are put together a lot better then any other manufacture and will last a longer.
