North River/Smith Creek

Dad and I are talking about doing a little deer hunting this year down by Raymond and possibly throwing in a line at North River/Smith creek. There is little to no information on this system anywhere on fishing. All I found was it gets a handfull of Coho. Dad said, he remembers fishing there successfully as a small child with his Grandfather but doesn't know much past that. Has anyone floated, motored, or bank fished North River and/or Smith Creek? Is there any fishing anymore? Anything would be helpful because again, there is nothing online. Not even one fishing report here. I don't know if we will have a chance to scout it before hunting season or if we will even have a chance fish while we are there but if there is a chance I will bring my small boat. Thanks for any input!

I used to fish the North when I went out there camping. I've caught sturgeon from the tide flats. It doesn't open for Coho until September, but it does have a nice run to fish for. The kings run big down there as well.

Thanks Nate. Deer season opens up in October so we should be good. Looking forward to checking it out!
