Hey All,
I want to start tying my own jigs for salmon and steelhead and am having a hard time finding a good source for pre-colored and blank jigs. Any recommendations?
Thanks for the input!!

I pour and paint my own jigs. What are you looking for?? I have supplied a few from the site with some jigs, painted or not painted. I have the mold for the steelhead specific heavy wire jigs.

aero jigs sell painted jigs but if you have lead it may be cheaper to just pour your own jigs if you are really serious about tying jigs. also there are lots of jig paints on the market.

I buy my jigs from this guy. He does carry the 2X strong hooks!
http://www.leadfreejigheads.com/gpage3.html Obviously they're no lead jigs, just pre-emptive strike and good for the small business guy. They're slightly lighter than lead but once they're cleaned, they paint up real nice and they're harder than lead so the paint doesn't come off. I just use the $2.00 bottle fingernail polish and the feathers get nasty before the paint does. With the nail polish you get every color under the sun and a bunch more. This is an excellent product and no one had to breath lead vapors to make them. If you value your health don't pour your own.

Was asked by another member what molds I was referring to. Well not sure how to post pic in pm so thought I would just post the pic here. These are jigs made with mustad 32833 salmon steelhead 2x strong hooks. Also make the standard round head jigs with 32833 hooks but not in pic.
