There is a 10 page thread on this river. That's from the start of the season till now. Maybe give that a read and it will give you an idea.

Skookumchuck will still be fishable, but the fish are going to be closer to the bank. The river will probably start dropping tomorrow. This rain is gooood

I've fished the skook 3 times in 2 weeks and have caught all 3 times. The water will be dropping soon. Rain was good for it. Those chromers are gonna push up in there.

Cant wait for Saturday to get here. That river should be just about perfect shape by then, as I have had my best luck around 500. There should also be lots of new fish pushed in with this latest rain.

Why not fish it when its high??? The fish can't go anywhere they will just go into calm water. Target it with huge clumps of eggs and shrimp. Might be able to get some hook ups with no one else around. Not saying for sure fish, but it might work.

Fish it when it's blown! The higher the better. Look at the graphs from last year, we had higher than average flows all spring through there and it fished fantastic. It didn't start dropping to these normal levels until way into the season. It's always colored up, don't worry about that. It fishes way better when it's pushing the banks, the fish aren't spooky, and plus you've got a better chance at chrome because they can get past the nets and shoot up. If you really feel the need, give me a call, I'll put you on some skook steel.

yeah I do best at around 400-500, I have literally seen part of the river that in fall are just gravel bars and when it is high that same place would hole anywhere from 3-12 steelhead, crazy fishing when it is high, look for tailouts as fish are moving they will stop there for a little bit. casting plugs is good too when it is high.
