Hey guys ive only caught 1 hoho this year and i really wanna catch like 20 more and i was wondering how to catch some fish outa the wallace??!! i was seeing them and they wouldnt bite!:( What will they bite on when they are boots? Thanks

I do fine with jigs. bobber and jigs

bobber and eggs does the trick right now too. Yarn balls with sand shrimp scent as well. Twitching big fluffy jigs is also working fantastic. We don't go home without playing at least 10 fish these days.

Using these methods?? I dont know why but i just cant seem to get these guys to bite?

Number one reason why fish you see dont bite cuz they either see you or your presentation is,wrong.

a really good way on the wallace, is a drift a little lead, 8 ft leader and a little black yarn, they eat it up

I dont run 8 foot leaders, anything over 3 or 4 feet is considered flossing to me!

How,would 3-4ft consider flossing?

if your trying to floss u can do it with just about any rig you want, and on the other hand you could have a 10 foot leader and a nice clump of eggs, not trying to floss and get every one to bite, you really gotta be trying to floss and drift your gear the right way to do it, its actually really hard to floss a fish just simply drift fishing, because if you think about it, your weight hangs up a bit and the current pushes your gear directly downstream of your weight, so its straight in the current, not across, if ur trying to floss and your holding it tight/reeling while drifting then thats a different story, leader length doesnt always matter

Ok i see, but also im more of a float fisherman, i love bobber downs!

i just like being a troll, just put a little bit of roe colored yarn, and some eggy sent under a float, might get a few to bite, they dont bite too often in the wallace.

Thats actually a deadly rig for finicky fishes like steelhat

beads with black yarn are the way to go on any river, they eat that stuff up no joke.

Beads and black yarn can pretty much get any coho to bite if nothing else will work.

I have seen coho attack just a bead and black yarn...On the dungy i use red and black yarn/beads and corkies cause the fish hate it cause it imitates a leech following an egg, and theres a ton of leeches in the river. Or atleast thats why i think they bite it, could be wrong but i know that the fish do indeed bite it. Can't hook a fish past the tounge to the point of needing pliers if your trying to floss it.

okay, I don't think that is always a flossing rig, they bite it pretty good at the quil, dungy, dewatto, skok and cascade. I can show you how to fish if you want me to odh before you get that guide servce, key is to use a 3 foot leader, yeah now you can tie 4 leader instead of 1, very economically smart and the fish love it too! its a win-win
