Steelhead Reports and Pics 2012-2013

Yep, everything is slow its a slow season period, just tryna fish some new water cause its low and slow up thissa way. Ill find fish... I usually do

funny thing is that it should not be a slow period every river in washington should have runs of steelhead swarming in right now but it is just not happening, hopefully the run comes in this next week at the cascade even though it is running in the 200s now

Dude. Its january. Peak cascade time is thanksgiving. They... Arent... Coming! Numbers over bonneville dam were 140,000 less steelhead than the 10 yr average. The steelhead runs are small. Bottomline

Just got back from the op my little river was dead got 4 15 18# class for 2 days very sloooow try again in 2 weeks

BROOOOOOOOOO, if I break 20 before you it's gonna be a big deal haha. you would probably have to buy me Denny's every time we go fishing until you hit a 20 lolololololol

if you hook a 20 near me anytime im cutting your line, leaving you at the river and never taking you again

I fished below concrete with my dad in the sled today. Couldn't touch anything but one dolly. was still nice to fish the river, saw a herd of elk with a good sized bull mixed in, lots of bald eagles. Had the depth sounder on, one of the holes was 36ft deep....wow.

was anyone getting any? we are going to be taking the drifter out from marblemount to sutter ck and bank the cascade this week.

Dont expect much... Im gonna hit 4 diff rivers in 5 days coming up soon, skook, nooch, cow and secret

Nooch is doing better good! I'm going next week on a sled.. should be some fish!! some big nates in their right now

It's not really crowded where i own my property! haha... It still fish's good without bait... Plugs work and same with jigs... But nothin can beat eggs on that river when it's open

Was at the skookumchuck today, saw one steelhead caught and heard of another hooked.

You goin again soon? Ill be there tomorro afternoon and wednesday

we will be up in bellingham for the next few days. Might check out the skagit, but I have a feeling we wont find much, ha

its like the opposite of nature, lots of eggs should create more steelhead lives, but to fisherman, lots of eggs kills more steelhead. HA

EA the fishing is decent in the nooch right now but as far as the big nates go its pretty early for that.

around this time of the year last year. I got a 18 pounder. So i thought there would be some. But they come in around feb-march right?

Finally something to contribute. It ain't much, but at least it was something! First of the season. Questionable adipose, so CNRd.

Hit a dandy for #20 she was 12 pounds and is the last steelhead for 2012 for me. Out of all the people today only one other person hit fish and that was way down river, and he got 2 in I think he said 4-5 casts(lots of people around him with no luck!). They where small but he got a limit when everyone else got skunked! No other bobber downs, no other action of any sort for anyone around. Caught her just as it got light out. Fished till noon. What a great way to end the year!!!! Checked to see if eggs where ready so I could take them to the hatchery but appeared to not be ripe yet. When opened the eggs spilled everywhere. Damm what a waste of a s*** load of eggs!!! Surprised to see loose eggs in such a bright fish.
