I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Im on the Green Saturday,If the rain slows the Cowlitz on Sunday and Bush point on Monday.High Muddy dosent matter. This Sat is the last for the Green.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I also pulled out a 24lb and 22lb fish out of that hole a week or so later. As far as the green its all open tomorrow still but sunday things change. Check the emergancy closure for details. Really the green isnt a good choice for fishing anyhow right now. You will not really hear this from me ever, but this weekend ya will. Stay outta the water and watch football. Weather will change and Hopefully things look better in a few days. Cow is even letting out alot of water right now.
More fish please!
RE:Winter Steel
Yeah I went to the Cow today...all I can say is wow what a swamp! Saw some hookups (none myself) but pretty much spent the day getting very soggy and collecting free gear from the river bottom. I second the watching football comment. I'm a Redskins fan but as far as this year's playoffs, lets go HAWKS!

RE:Winter Steel
A buddy talking me into hitting the Sky (Reiter) yesterday afternoon. Timed it when the river dipped to it's lowest point of the weekend before shooting back up again. Water was just up to the tree line, the big rock in the middle was just under water. From about 1pm till dark, saw one caught, one lost, one jump, and 4 in the creek. Me? I just donated jigs to the fishing gods and got wet and cold.

The Green wasnt Green. Its new name is the Brown river. As of Sunday the Green is Closed. All of it.I dont know about the Duwamish. It was unclear in the closure if its open or not. Its the Duwamish to Tukwilla then changes names only to the Green. I didnt find any fishable waters on Saturday.

RE:Winter Steel

If it looks fishy, Then fish it, If it dont look fishy, fish it anyways. <')}}}}><

haahha, the river levels looked high but managable last night so I woke up early this morning and got my gear on then checked 'em again before I went out. I then promptly went back to bed.
RE:Winter Steel
I believe the Green is open above 277th until Feb 1st.racfish wrote:The Green wasnt Green. Its new name is the Brown river. As of Sunday the Green is Closed. All of it.I dont know about the Duwamish. RE:Winter Steel
Action: Close the Green River to fishing.
Species affected: All game fish.
Locations and effective dates:
- from the 1st Ave. South Bridge in Seattle upstream to the South 277th Bridge in Auburn will be closed to all fishing on Jan. 16, 2011.
- from the 277th Bridge in Auburn upstream to the Tacoma Headworks Dam will be closed to all fishing on Feb. 1, 2011.
The upper Green is open through the month, here's hoping that it gets back in shape in time for folks to fish it a bit before closing.
Ralf - As far as regs are concerned, the Green is the Green from the 1st AVE bridge to it's headwaters near Stampede Pass. They just tend to break up the lower sections to confuse and irritate fishermen.
