floating device on Duwamish River Rules

Post by jojo » Fri Oct 10, 2014 7:52 pm

Hi all,

The way I read the regs is that you can fish from a boat all the way up to I-405 until November 1st. A guy was yelling at me last week but I didn't have my book with me.

Thanks for any input!

Jo

Unless I missed something that's the way I understand it. Boats are ok until Nov. 1st.

whats funny is that nothing is mentioned of not being able to take a boat up the river as far as you dare (except the date limitations pertaining to fishing). where would one go to find out about the legality of taking a boat up the green?

Why would there be a legal issue about having a boat on the Green? I know there is a stretch farther up river that is marked as a hazard.

From what I can tell you can take a boat on the river all year long (just can't fish from it all year long). However, as you move upriver the obstacles and shallow water will make a motor boat pretty much worthless. Kayaks and drift boats fit the bill up higher....not sure where the outboard cut off would be, but I think there are some pretty good obstacles at low tide in in Tukwila, so it depends on how well you know the water and how much you value your prop.
