new buzzbait

last week I bought a single bladed, black buzzbait for 3 bucks with the intention of trying my luck at bass fishing. I am wondering, should I modify it in any other way? I've threaded on a small, green rubber twirly thing and bent the blade shaft ever so slightly so it pings every now and then on the main shaft.

My guess is...the fish will tell you. Just toss it and see what happens.

Yup, try it 'stock' first. Then modify from there.

You could attach a siwash hook to the main hook

A trailer hook is alway good on a Buzzbait, I always have one on a buzzbait. They even make hooks with a little bigger eye to fit over the barb, and a piece of tubing so the trailer hook doesn't fall or get thrown off.
