A buddy and I are in town for a couple of months and bought kayaks to do some bass fishing.. We have hit American, Spanaway and Waughop Lakes.. We are not doing that well and looking for any local advice on the "wheres" and "hows" around here this time of year.. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Docks docks docks, shallow gravel. Pads, trees, and such. Weed lines, inside and outside. Worms, jigs, crankbaits, dropshot.

Appreciate it Amx! Had some luck with a couple big smallies (and a number of small ones) at Steilacoom the last few days hitting the docks and the shallows in between them with senkos.. Hope to keep the big ones coming!
Love your occupation and interests by the way!

Great going, now for me to follow my own advice, been a little sparce yesterday and today, only 2 yesterday, and 1 today. And I did catch them behind other anglers. But I did see one that was at least 5/6 lbs, and maybe 8 pounds. Wouldn't even look at the worm.

Nice Jay!
Steilacoom is a fun lake, especially from a kayak. Glad to hear you got some nice fish out there.
Were you fishing Steilacoom as well, Amx? I really need to fish it more (especially since I live only a block away), but my schedule hasn't allowed it. Hopefully this weekend I can break out my kayak and maybe even catch a few fish.
