Hey guys & gals - new member here from Everett, WA with a couple quick questions...
So I'm new to Bass fishing (have yet to catch one) but I'm not fishing for tips (although tips are greatly appreciated, lol). I follow a lot of the fishing reports and I've noticed that when I look for specific reports for Largemouth Bass there doesn't appear to be any recent ones for Snohomish County... there's three lakes that I frequent a lot and those are Blackmans Lake, Cassidy Lake and Lake Stevens. Now all three claim to be stocked with Bass, however, the only reports I'm seeing is for Trout & Kokanee... So my question is... what am I missing??? is it the wrong time of year to fish for Bass??? or are these lakes not that good for Bass fishing? ... and if so, which lakes in Snohomish County are great for Bass fishing, weather from boat or shoreline?... lastly... are there Bass fishing seminars in my area? ... thank you in advance :-) Happy Fishing, Everyone

welcome! One thing that you'll notice as you hang around the site is that fishing reports for certain lakes/areas come and go in spurts. Some lakes will get hot and be reported on a lot, and then cool off and/or people start reporting on new locations.

It may be that these lakes are fishing fine, but anglers are either keeping quiet or focused on other lakes. I'd use the search feature for the report pages on these lakes and use that to narrow down the reports to just largemouth bass, and learn from those historical reports what you can. That's a big part of why we keep all 40,000+ reports in the database, so people can look back for information over time.

Good luck!

Of those three lake mentioned, Lake Cassidy gets fished a lot for bass. Lake Stevens I'm sure gets it's attention, but is primarily a trout and Kokanee lake. As far Blackman's lake goes that is heavily trout fished. Somebody will prob. jump on me and say that Blackman's has all kinds of bass, but I'm just saying that on this site, that is a meat trout fishery for sure.

When you said "That all three lakes are stocked with bass" Where did you get that information? The WDFW doesn't really take kindly to bass, it is all about support and populate the trout species. I am not aware of any lake getting state stockings of bass, but most lakes have at least large mouth in them to some degree.
As far as time of year, you on right on the thick of it. It's gang busters for bass from now through Sept. Find the cover, (lilly pads, docks, downed trees,) etc.
Look in the report history for each of the lakes, especially Cassidy. You can back pedal until you find some bass reports, and take from them what you can.

no need to backpedal.

Pull up the lake you are interested in.

Click on the "Reports" link.

Enter the species (in this case largemouth bass).

Hit "search".

The reports will now filter only submitted reports for largemouth bass.

The advantage of a database system in display!
