Hey, my first posting ever on here! Anyhow, I caught this 2.5 pounder out of Silver Lake in Everett using a 4" Yamamoto worm, texas rigged. He missed the first strike, hitting the lily pad, but definitely got it the second time. I have lived near this lake for over a year, and just now got out there on my float tube to fish. I appreciate this site. Thanks guys!

Welcome and nice fish! Remember to post a report on the main page so that others will be able to see your efforts. It will live on forever there.

Looks like this fish was illegally killed. Most likely this fish is 15.5" to 16". Hoping its a skinny fish over 17", looks chunky in first pic and skinny in 2nd. My bet is this fish is still inside the slot limit.

Here is a good general rule to follow:

When you think you know it all, its time to quit. Knowledge should be gained on every trip.

Where can I find the regulations on things like this? I just go out and fish, and occasionally bring something home to eat. But, I want to be legal. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The smallies changed this year, largies kept the slot.

On the right side of this page: http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regs_seasons.html you can download the fishing regulation pamphlet or pick it up in a store that sells fishing licenses...

LARGEMOUTH BASS
(See DOH advisory, next page) No min. size. Only BASS less than 12" may be retained, except 1 over 17" may be retained. Daily limit
5. Bass may be caught, retained, and released alive from a livewell until a daily limit is in possession.

12-17 inches is the slot limit that Largemouth bass may not be retained if they are in that range.

Chalk it up as a learning experience (if that fish was somewhere between 12-17 inches). Just be careful with those regulations and be aware of them, cause the WDFW will ticket you if you possess an illegal fish.

Hey guys, that was extremely helpful, and yes, a definite learning experience. I'm not sure on the length of my fish, but ignorance is no excuse. Glad I found this site. Thanks again.

Looks like 17.0625" to me. Nice fish and welcome aboard!

You can also get a paper copy of the fishing regs where you buy your fishing license. I keep one in my tackle bag.

OK,so this isn't even close to being a great catch. But I've been trying to catch my first lmb of the year for the last 2 months. Fishing Tapps,Five Mile and a bunch of others, finally Silver in Spokane County delivered and damn it feels good to get this one off the list. P.S. I still suck at bass fishing but still love fish'n them
