SILVER LAKE PIG!

Post by SilverLakeBoy » Sun May 04, 2008 7:02 pm

Well lets just say the scales were tipped and records were broken. it was really tough but the fishing came through. i got my dad out on the boat and taught him the basics and he picked it up. also we both broke our records. mine was 5lbs 8oz and his was 2lbs. i pulled that fish off her bed by some old growth logs. it seems all my fish have all came off logs/wood this year. i pitched by the logs 1 time and nothing. pitched again and swam my jig about 3 times and stopped. then my line moved MAYBE 1.5 inches just enough to tell and WAM!!! and i didnt feel the bite at all. thats how finess that fish picked it up. i set into here and felt like a ripped into a log. nothing happened for about 3 seconds and then off she went and she took off and took me for a ride. and this was on my 663 (6'6'' medium action)Lamiglas. now just imagine that. thanks god for 20lbs fluoro and best of all i lipped her right at the boat. my dream to lip my biggest as i did with my other.

thanks a lot, Casey

she was 7lbs 12oz:cheers:

the bed was in about 2foot of water at upper 50degree water. yes the fish was on a bed and i did return her back to the same exact spot i caught her at. and it was also cool to watch her swim back right back to the bed where she belonged. and since silver is so dirty i had no idea the bed was there. those logs just looked good in the offset they were sitting at. and i have been catching all my fish off logs(hint hint:-$ )

thanks, Casey

It looks bigger because he's long arming the fish. Don't get me wrong, I'm not raining on his parade in ANY way... it's just a trick for taking fish pictures. If you hold the fish with bent arms against your body you can see how big the fish really was, but when you hold it at arms length it gets much bigger in the picture.
