Even though the pads are drying up they still are cover for the bass. I have still been fishing the edge of the pads, and any pockets i can get to.

If I had to put my money on one angler it would have to be Kevin Vandam. But I think the angler thats good for the sport is Ike. The guy is just fun to watch.

RE:line watchin and detecting strikes
I find myself fishing to fast with senko type lures. I have started counting to ten be for I move the line. This seems to work well with the slack line.

I agree with Daniel. Cut the line and let the fish go! Talk to a taxadermist and they can tell you storys about the lures they find in the fish they are cleaning. Some hooks will rust out others may be past. I have also caught fish with hooks in them. It doesnt stop them from eating.

I like scented soft plastics. You can get a bass to hit unscented baits, but I think they will hold it longer if it is scented.

RE:New State Record Bass !
What about transporting it alive anyway? That way you could get the record and the bass could live! How much could the fine be? Is the fine worth the c&r?

RE:very thick weeds
It is milfoil. I run my trolling motor just far enough under the surface so it wont make that chopping noice on the surface. I like the idea of pegging the weight to the plastic! If i fish this lake again, I will try other top waters, or fish it ealier in the year. It is one big weedy mudd puddle. T...

very thick weeds
I tried to fish lake Terrel the other day and found it to be full of weeds. They were so thick I couldnt use my trolling motor. Even in the middle of the lake. There are lots of lillypads around the edges. first I tried a weightless senko. the weeds were to thick. Then I went to a top water frog. It...

RE:What do most bass fisherman do wrong?
Have you ever heard " 90% of the fish are caught in 10% of the water"? I think one of the big mistakes is not understanding the body of water, and knowing were to fish! This includes me. I sometimes think I will just luck into finding the spot. Second I think I tend to fish to fast.

RE:Favorite Bass-lures
Hey, Guys
It is not my top producer, but is my favorite. The Pop-R! Nothing beats the excitment of a topwater bite. A calm surface at dawn or dusk. the pop-r making a ripple as it splashes its way across the surface. then all the sudden pow and thr fight is on.
