Re: golden trout

yep...actual first fish I ever caught on a fly was from within that log jam...just dipping a wooly I think, and got hit right away. little guy, but I was so pumped to have landed it. I then went over by some of the shallower areas, and cast out to some rocks...and a HUGE trout came up, looked at my ...

Re: golden trout

yeah...I am pretty sure what I saw spawning was a cut, or a rainbow. My wife couldn't understand why I was so excited to see two fish "complete the circle of life." This was up at lake serene on highway two...near the drainage of the lake..so there was some moving water. They were making redds and f...

Re: golden trout

Bodo, I have spoken with WDFW, and some people who were on those planting operations. golden trout were indeed stocked ALL over the U.S. until California banned the export of trout eggs/fingerlings from the waters that they are native from. However...many high lakes in Washington were stocked with g...

Re: Construction At Sammamish State Park Launch

So...basically there are fewere parking spots, the costs have increased, and it is now more difficult to back our boats up? That sounds like a sound park management program.

Re: Trolling With Flies?

Hey, it can be as simple or complex as you want. I fly fish using a "trolling" method almost every time I am in a lake, and there is no reason you can't simply use a light line, and slow speed to do the same. With a fly rod, I just cast out, and slowly kick my pontoon boat around the lake. With a bo...

RE:freshwater eel

Lamprey seems more like it, size wise and shape wise.

Gross. We waded through the water and stirred them all up, it was kind of freaky to be surrounded by them.

freshwater eel

At the outflow of Lake Maraget, in King county, there used to be large numbers of what looked like eels, swimming in the water near the discharge pipe coming out of the dam. This was over 15 years ago that my friends and I saw them, in fact we went back several times to check them out. They were def...

beaver pond fishing

Hey there, I just got to fish a beaver pond out in the snoqualamie valley i have been eyeing for years on the stossel creek. It produced dozens of small trout (less than 12 inches) over several hours on small dry flies and a tiny inline spinner bait. My question is, are there probably larger fish in...

nissan/tohatsu 3.5 hp repair.

I am looking for a good repair shop (read cheap) to get my small outboard running correctly. It fired up when I purchased it last year, but just idles poor now, and is difficult to start. I also have a 2hp that need some overhaul, that I have never had running. I would prefer shops in the eastside, ...

RE:I received this today from my daughter stationed at Bagram Airbase Afghanistan

Just after I logged off, I recalled flying with and seeing European air force "eurofighter typhoons" down at Nellis air force base in Vegas. It is a pure delta aircraft, and it might be flying north for an air show or to participate in an alaskan excercise.

just a thought.
