That doesn't look like anything that wouldn't be expected. Remember they closed it for low numbers not no numbers. On healthy run years that net would yield 7x that amount.

No contradiction at all. Blue creek is a trib of the Cowlitz river. And the regs are correct.

Big mudslide upstream this year it's a goner I'm afraid to say. 6" of vis but if you get lucky and fish hard you might find one that will play. It's been a real bummer considering there is no lack of opportunity

That's horrible info for someone just starting out. Really anyone for that matter. I find that spinners are an easy tactic to use for beginners. Not to mention extremely effective. Throw your spinner out at 2 O'clock and let it sink for a couple seconds. Then start a very slow retrieve. Remember kee...

Unfortunately there is no steelheading opportunity in that area. Your best option would be the Green but it's not going to be open till 2018 for winter run most likely.
