Re: Buzz Bombs/Spoons during salmon closures
Just don't do it. People get all antsy and you could get a ticket because there's a high chance of catching a coho.

fly fishing for coho?
I know it is closed for retention pretty much everywhere except of hood canal but I want to wet a fly for coho. I was thinking fast sinking tip and unweighted green/white and green/pink/white clousers about 3in long. I would be casting from the beach of casting towards beach/cove for them. Can anyon...

Re: Snohomish river cutthroat
Dry fly fish yellow sallies and lighter colored elk hair caddis work seams and slower slots. If gear fish 8lb test decent trout set up. Blue/silver and green/silver cast masters. Just be careful with the treble hooks you can mess up a smaller fish using them. Tight lines and dry waders.

Fly fishing for dollies?
Hi all, Lately I've really been wanting to fly fish more and am wondering where I can get into some big trout. I've fished Stillwater and caught some bruisers but it's really not my thing. I like dry fly fishing for 10" Cutts and Bows but I really wanna get into some substantial fish. I know dollies...

Re: Skykomish Chinook
Find deeper pools if you can twitch or bobber and jigs is solid and so are gold/brass spoons but bobber eggs are ticket if your serious fish the stretches below the Wallace along the edges and slow/fast seams as that's where the fish will probably be. If your interested in water lower in the system ...

Snoqualmie Summer Steelhead??
Hi all, with the hope that NOAA will give us the go ahead sometime in the next week and a half my anticipation to get some summer steel is exploding. I have heard the Snoqualmie has a small but decent amount of summer hatchery steelies that linger around the mouth of the creek up to the falls. I was...

Question about the Reiter fishery
While waiting on approval from NOAA before the "June 1st" opening and fishing can begin I heard some people talking that the steelhead driving at the ponds are gonna "disappear" like they will open the tube to the hatchery or something and that the poachers will get them. Can anyone give me some cla...

Question regarding June 1st opening
Thankfully the state and tribes came to an agreement and it seems as if it is good to go however, I have heard multiple people saying it cannot open until NOAA approves the plan. So my main question is will fishing be good to go tomorrow on the rivers that the state said will be opened or will we ha...

River closures??
Quick question for all of you. Obviously it is clear that there will be no salmon fishing in the puget sound and their rivers but will the upper skykomish (reiter ponds) be open for summer steelhead???
Thanks, bummer of a year we have before us. Tight lines and dry waders.

Hi all So with winter steelheading coming to a close for PS rivers I have been forced to wait until I can go to my cabin for blackmouth. My buddy lives on lake sammamish and since we hang out almost every weekend I thought heck let's try for some winter cutthroat he agreed so Presidents' Day we'll b...

Wallace/ Sky updates???
Hi all as winter steelhead season is in full swing I finally have a free weekend to try and get my first. The reports seem really sparse these days. I am thinking of hitting the Wallace as hiking the middle stretch to try and get one or maybe as a ditch effort slap the water by the hatchery/ may cre...

Re: WDFW enacts a discrimatory fishing rule?
I say they close all rivers for salmon and steelhead completely, during that time we should impliment brood stock programs and stock small amounts of salmon fry, in the hopes that said salmon fry will recolonize the river its in. They should also restore/clean up natural habitat along the river, an...

Re: Fish ID
riverhunter in all due respect this is a king the reason it is slender is because of how much energy and body fat it has burned traveling so far up the river. The heavy spotting is just charteristic to the species of chinooks in that area

Re: Fish ID
Definitely a king salmon. I ran into this same problem two years ago swinging streamers for cutthroat on the Teanaway river in October. I hooked into a fish much bigger than a 16" cutthroat. After a prolonged battle on my 4 weight fly rod I had a big greenish bronze salmonid heavily spotted over the...

Winter steel on the Sky?
Hi all, With a fun but inconsistent salmon run this year like closing the rivers because of temperature and lack of coho I managed to catch about 30 salmon in area 7 and the Sky collectively. With the recent flooding the chums have all disappeared and I am forced to look forward to blackmouth and st...
